Women in Music And Arts Aimmee Kodachian

Aimmee Kodachian is a Middle Eastern Armenian woman. As a child, Aimmee wasn't able to show her true potential because of her learning disability, Dyslexia. She felt that life was not fair; that everyone should have a chance to shine, including herself! As she grew a little older, her learning disability became her PURPOSE. She became determined to help others shine, and held fast to what her older brother, Robert, always told her, "BELIEVE in your dreams."

But life stepped in with its own set of challenges. In 1975, the Lebanese Civil War began. She was only 12 years old when a bomb killed Robert right in front of her eyes! In the blink of an eye, her family lost everything and became homeless. She was given away for marriage three days after her 14th birthday.

The war crushed her dreams and her purpose. She was a mom at 15 and a single mom at 17. Her love for her daughter was the single thing that kept her going day after day. Her daughter became her "WHY."

Aimmee survived war, poverty, and physical and emotional domestic abuse. By the age of 26, she escaped death 3 times. Lost, confused with no education, no money or skills, she only had her "WHY."

In 1988, she came to the United States in hopes of a better life. She was told to go back to her own country and told, "You are not going to make it here!" In her heart, she knew she had her "WHY" and that's all that she needed!

After years of persistence and determination, she became a successful business woman and believed that her life had been saved for a reason. Despite having only a fourth grade education, she challenged herself and wrote her first book, "Tears of Hope." She continues delivering her message of "Hope" and is living her dream and PURPOSE! She is sharing the lessons that she learned and is using her powerful personal examples to guide others to the realization that, even during the most difficult times of their life, they can find peace within their heart and mind. She leads them to recognize their own power and to unearth their inner strength to challenge adversity of any kind. Aimmee joyfully helps others to discover their own "WHY" and to encourage them to shine and live to their full potential
